This event is open to all players aged 6-17 years of age.

All participants must hold a valid British Judo Association or affiliate organisation license and must bring
proof of this to the registration and weigh-in.
Entry numbers will be limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Contest Duration: 6 & 7 year olds – 2 minutes + 1 minute GS, Novice to Red Belts 3 minutes + 1 minute GS,
Yellow & Orange 3 minutes + unlimited GS (shidos decide the contest). Orange & Greenbelts 3 Minutes +
Unlimited GS (Scores or Hansokumake decide the contest)

Competition Format:

This festival is a age & grade banded event as follows:
Event 1 – 6 & 7 Year Olds
Event 2 – Novice – Red Belts (8-17 Year Olds)
Event 3 – Yellow & Orange Belts (8-17 Year Olds)
Event 4 – Orange & Green Belts (8-17 Year Olds)
Players will be put into pools of 3, 4, 5 or 6 based upon their age, grade & weight with the aim to create
meaningful contests and as many as possible. We want our participants to gain as much mat time as
possible so coach’s input as to the level of their individual players is important when creating the pools.
As tournament organiser and with the agreement of the players & their coaches we reserve the right to mix
the categories where necessary to provide our participants with meaningful contests.
This festival aims to provide young / inexperienced players with a positive experience of competitive judo.
All players will receive a medal.


Entry Policy:

Our Standard Online Entry Fee for the Festival is £10.00 for Event 1 & £15.00 for Events 2, 3 & 4. This entry
fee is applicable for all entries posted & paid for through our website on or before Friday 5th April 2019.
Please note in order for our event to run efficiently we would like your entries to come in nice and early. To
encourage you to do this, we have a late entry policy whereby the entry fee will increase.
Our Late Entry Fee for the festival is £15.00 for Event 1 & £20.00 for Events 2, 3 & 4. This late entry fee
applies to all entries posted through website on or after Saturday 6th April 2019.
We will accept entries on the day of the event of which our late entry fee will apply but payments must be
made in cash.
We will only stop taking entries for this event if it becomes oversubscribed. If over-subscription occurs we
will post a notice on our website www.cravenjudo.co.uk

Weigh in:

We do not want our competitors, parents and coaches to have to hang around for hours on end waiting for their pools to start.
Therefore we analyse our entries and post the Official Weigh In Times for each age category on our
website www.cravenjudo.co.uk & through our social media channels, the week before the event takes
This means from the start of your weigh in to completion of your pool, we estimate it will take a
maximum of 3 hours.
All competitors MUST bring their VALID judo licence (BJA or affiliate) to registration and also their record
book showing that they are at the grade in which they entered. Players will be weighed in full Judogi.

Thanks for your support:

We will again be running a cafe on the day which ran by Craven Judo Academy volunteers to help increase
funds for our club to help improve the experience of our members and continue to develop the sport of
judo in the Craven District. We would again appreciate your support by spending your money at our cafe
rather than bringing food / drink with you.
We will also be conducting a raffle, again with the proceeds going back into the club.


Coaches will be invited to referee during Event 1 and allowed to coach mat side throughout the day with a
valid coaching pass.
